Bob Woodward, Journalist, released to the wild

Apr 5th, 2008 | By Leslie Fox | Category: News

Far from HomeAt 7:30 am, in a quiet abandoned parking-lot somewhere in rural West Virginia, Bob Woodward, made famous by his coverage of the Bob Woodward kidnapping, was released to the wild. He stepped hesitantly from the keeper’s van and was for a moment blinded and paralized by the early morning light.  Bob was last seen rapidly receding in the rear view mirror, he was weeping and kissing the ground. It is believed that Bob will eventually make his way to his original habitat, the unspoiled wilds of Georgetown in the Washington DC nature preserve, using the homing characteristics that his breed is known for. Failing that, he has been given change for a payphone, the nearest one is believed to be in Barboursville. A spokesperson for Receiving Me? gave this statement:

“We felt it was time to let Bob return to his mate (Elsa Walsh). He had grown despondent, he wasn’t eating, and more alarmingly he had begun to miss deadlines. He would just spend hours staring off into the darkness of his holding pen. We thought he might be turning the corner when he took a pet, but his melancholy just grew deeper. Eventually we had to face facts. The cost of keeping Bob was far in excess of the revenues his infrequent (one) editorials were generating. In order to bring in new, possibly more dynamic, and certainly more popular exhibits we had to let Bob go.”

Shortly after Bob Woodward’s release his radio tag began malfunctioning and making his exact location difficult to pinpoint.  Editors at Receiving Me? believe that the batteries in the transmitter may have failed, it’s also possible that Bob chewed the anklet off.  As of press time Bob’s location remains unknown.

  1. Bob doesn’t look as svelte, confident, and human as he did in his last known photo. Goes to show you just can’t keep Woodward in a cage.

  2. Yeah, should of learned the lesson from born free.
