Springfield, IL: It’s a day that many of us will remember forever as the day that Senator Barack Obama’s presidential hopes went down in flames. He came to us bringing a message of hope and a willingness to speak honestly, and despite these flaws we embraced him, but now, now nothing will ever be the same. Diehard supporters were seen walking the streets, faces bearing the hard truth of betrayal. Some of them saying over and over again “Why, Why did he do it.”

Obama’s concession speech came shortly after the horrifying mistake.

“My fellow American’s, I have come before you to day to announce my withdrawal from the presidential election of these United States. Many of you are asking hard questions. Why Senator Obama, why did you do it? I hear this over and over again. The truth is simple, embarrassingly so. You see, those are my most comfortable pants, the pants that I like to wear when working from home or in a hotel room. Now I know that they are a loud plaid pattern that many American’s find heinous, but I wore them anyway. If that alone was my crime, then I believe that I could continue on with the campaign. But to pair those pants with a paisley shirt and striped bathrobe, it is simply not something that a man can do and still call himself worthy to serve. I only ask that someday, you’ll find it in your heart to forgive me. Thank you and God bless America.”

With those words Obama walked slowly from the stage. Tears were seen running down his cheeks as he left the public eye once and for all.
