SHIFT SERIES

ShiftPlay Shift 1!

Play Shift 2!

. . . . . . . . . . . .*Play Shift 3!*
These 3 games have the most ingenious game design you have ever seen. The editor beat Shift 1 on his first try (so you should be able to do it in your first half a try). Beware: the in-game announcements LIE! Also, there is a trick to starting Shift 2. We won’t give it away… unless you beg! Finally, Shift 3 takes the series to a whole new level; it’s the Shift formula inside a full blown adventure game!

SPIN THE BLACK CIRCLE

SpinPlay Spin The Black Circle!

TO SAVE YOUR PROGRESS, JUST CLOSE YOUR GAME WINDOW, AND THE GAME WILL AUTOSAVE! DO NOT GO BACK TO THE MAIN MENU. THIS WILL ERASE ALL YOUR WORK!
.
Okay, its got the single worst game title ever, but it’s also got a simple, highly addictive concept: rotate a maze so that your ball avoids spikes and various other booby-traps. Spikes hurt, so do booby-traps… ouch! The game claims to be difficult. As of press time, no one at Receiving Me? has yet finished it (to get your name emblazoned in this section for all eternity, let us know when you do).

TOTEM DESTROYER

Totem DestroyerPlay Totem Destroyer!

.
.
A beautifully designed game with a simple premise: save the golden totem from breaking (ie. from hitting the ground) while eliminating supports from beneath. There are destroyable supports, slippery supports, and solid supports. Have fun! Hint: Focus on getting the golden totem to rest on the solid supports. There are 26 levels, which the Editor and Chief finished off on his first play. Good luck!

PSYCHOPATH

Get from point “A” to point “B” in the least amount of moves. Execution can be more difficult than in sounds! A truly enjoyable, addictive game from Danny Miller (Boomshine). The 7 different music tracks help keep those long gaming sessions fresh. Register to save your progress. Also, the game contains a link to Psychopath 2 (Registration Required), but we weren’t as enthralled with the sequel.

DESKTOP TOWER DEFENSE

.
This game was suggested by Athletic Support columnist, Brett Harsch. The second link exists because the editor is “challenged” when it comes to figuring out how to play games on his own.

BOOMSHINE

Boomshine

Play Boomshine!

.
.
A strategy game with great music in which the player tries to set off explosions in chain reactions. There are 12 levels. We finished them all, and if you’d like to also, you’ll have to be willing to waste a lot of time.

BALL BOUNCE

BallbouncePlay Ball Bounce!

.
.
MAKE SURE TO READ THE INSTRUCTIONS AS THERE ARE MORE OPTIONS THAN YOU MIGHT THINK! The staff of Receiving Me? finished the game and got a score of “6911″. That and a $7.50 gets you a coffee at Starbucks.

MONKEY KICK

Monkey KickPlay Monkey Kick!

.
.
There are a ton of versions of this game floating around. The staff spent a bunch of time playing a version that was much harder (Oh well!). To get a video of your high score (for proof!) click on “Challenge Your Monkey Friends”. You will be directed to a url with a permanent video! Leslie Fox and Bernard Bygott tied with the same high score: 5621 Monkey Meters! Isn’t that adorable?
